Jai Ma! Namaste Friends! We are greatly honored to be the ambassadors for the Y Catalog this month. We are practitioners of the path called Bhakti- the yoga of love and devotion. A core element of this path is called Bhakti Seva, meaning "devotional service". The recurring mantra of the ego is selfishly repeating, 'what is in it for ME'? On the other side of the coin, as we begin to awaken into Spirit the inner mantra transforms into, 'How can I best SERVE? What can I do to uplift the collective vibration of the planet?' We are at such a critical point at this time on Mother Earth and we must recognize the we are all seamlessly connected. The great Source is pulsating and throbbing through us all...
We respect and appreciated the Y's catalog's intentions and manifestation as a conscious business. Yes we are shopping, but we are doing it in a consious way by giving back as well. An aspect of conscious commerce is what we call "Eco-Yoga". This is something that we feel very strongly about. Eco-Yoga is not practiced on a yoga mat. It is practiced in our daily life. A central aspect of this practice is conscious consumption- making our consumer based choices in our everyday lives that leave less of a carbon-footprint on our great mother. As you see we have picked out 10 products from the Y Catalog that we not only love, but all of these products made with sustainable materials in an "eco-friendly" way. We believe that style and sensitivity to mother earth can fully be integrated.
The Y catalog is generously donating $1.08 for every purchase of our 8 ambassador product choices to a cause of our choice. We live on the beach in Malibu, California, are both surfers and share a lifelong love for the ocean, waves, and all things fluid. For this reason the organization that we have chosen is called the "Surfrider Foundation" http://www.surfrider.org/. The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education. Our nation had a record number of beach closures and health advisories this past year in relation to unclean ocean water, the most in 15 years. This REALLY bums us out... The trash that we see regularly on the beach not only negatively affects the quality of water for us humans, but also precious marine life too! We see this pollution and trash everyday, whether we are going out for a surf or doing yoga/ jogging on the beach. Please help support this wonderful organization!!!
